LAURA LOSCIALE, MIA, MBA, RYT 200

9/19/2019 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM (8 weeks) location in South Miami to be announced.

This evidence-based 8 week training is designed to empower you to take an active role in your health and wellbeing, to find greater peace and balance, to enhance your focus and concentration, to boost your self confidence, and to increase your enjoyment of life.

Through this time-tested curriculum you can expect to learn specific mindfulness practices and how to apply them to the challenges you encounter in your everyday life. Brief lectures and discussions will assist you in learning to recognize your maladaptive habitual reactions to stress and support you in developing more appropriate, effective responses. The teacher will invite you to pause and notice what is happening in your experience moment to moment and to inquire deeply into what responses would be most skillful given the circumstances. You will also explore several common communication styles and ways to bring mindfulness into your relationships. Daily practice is encouraged. A course packet and audio recordings are included in the cost of the program.

Two decades of scientific research confirms that after completing this program, participants report an improved ability to manage short and long-term stressful situations, anxiety, fear, anger, depression, grief, and chronic pain among other symptoms. They also report a reduction in the frequency of doctors' visits and a reduction in the use of prescription medications.

Our trainings are meant to provide a safe and supportive environment in which we practice mindfulness together, and where everyone becomes their own and each other’s teacher through the process of experiential learning.

CLASS STRUCTURE:

The program consists of 8 weeks of 2.5- or 3-hour classes and an all-day retreat.

Classes are experiential and include:

    • Guided instruction in formal practices including sitting, walking, mindful movement (appropriate for all ability levels), and the body scan.
    • Exercises to apply mindfulness to situations in your everyday life.
    • Small and large group discussions.
    • Daily home practice ranging from 30-60 minutes and including listening to audio recordings and completing short assignments.

Regular attendance and consistent home practice are necessary in order to experience the full benefits of the program. This may require a reshuffling of your priorities. The more you make time to fully participate in the program, the more likely you will cultivate resources you can draw upon to sustain and support you as you move through life.
